There was once a time , where it looked like the locality of Philly green gardeners , food accessible enthusiasts , and community revitalizing spirits were running through a hey day.
I can recall a time of meeting , intersecting , and organizing on different accords from City Hall , to taking associates to places like the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
It was brought to my attention , through private documentation , the mention of Urban Gardeners getting stiffened by the developers in surrounding Philadelphia neighborhoods. As a guerrilla , DIY , and proactive vocalist about issues surrounding gentrification , the displacement of people , and the economic down turns of Black , Brown , poor and oppressed , eye am here to contend and present to you all the following solutions.
If you believe that there is a chance things can be worked out with the developers , you need to .....
1. Find the developers email , office , or physical location
2. Have a meeting , or attend a zoning ordinance meeting event to voice your opinion about your interests in Green space
3. Raise people support , whether how big or small , to activate how many different ways you can conceptually express your importance to the neighbors at large.
4. See how you and the developers can work something out side by side in a partnering trust of civility.
If you don't believe there is a chance things can be worked out with the developers you need to .....
1. Project the amount of time you have to mobilize before the developer projects completion.
2. Utilize the land you have at the moment to exploit profits , build people bidding visibility , and eradicate the outsider to your space , thoroughly alleviating them into your cause.
3. Flyer , canvass , and petition the developers to inject the propaganda , via the negativity of their actions.
If you are seeking to wage war with the developer you need to ..... (see me personally for a discreet dozier)
I want to say while closing out , there needs to be a more solidified dialog across gardening networks throughout the city. One that would catapult a cabal of Urban Farmers from the political landscape , to the very volunteers , and nurturers of land conducting the work. When people build bridges , it doesn't matter to the volume of trajectory targeting that they may face. Because there is now a body of willing spirits in place to decompress what may appear to be a behemoth of a situation. If you know a gardener facing an issue , having difficulty dealing with a gentrifying developer , or someone who wants to further the gardening trust of the city , please have them contact me on this blogsite right here. And always remember , #northphillypeacepark #greenwallstreet #aiernnewsuniversal
